rhonchi

Rhonchi (RON-keye) are abnormal dry, leathery sounds heard in the lungs which indicate congestion and mucus in the larger bronchial tubes (bronchi). Rhonchi (singular rhonchus) indicate inflammation of the bronchial tubes, thus are found mainly in bronchitis. See also rales,wheezing.
