Jeffrey W. Hull, M.D., F.A.A.P. is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Besides offering general pediatric care, Dr. Hull has long had special interests in counseling parents of childern with sleep-related problems, from newborns to toddlers and preschoolers, and has produced two videos on the subject. His latest video, "Night, Night! Dr. Hull's Common Sense Sleep Solutions©" was the product of years of study, reflection, and listening to parents to find out what really works, for real parents in real households. It is a common sense approach based on fundamental understanding of normal infant developmental stages and normal maternal responses. It covers every aspect of childrens sleep from birth through preschool years. Dr. Hull has counselled parents of children with sleep problems worldwide over the Internet for the last ten years, a unique service to families.
Dr. Hull grew up in Durham, North Carolina and attended Durham High School. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed internship and residency training in pediatrics at the Child Health Center, UTMB Galveston, and served for an additional year on the faculty as Chief Resident in Pediatrics. Following that time he served for three years as a U.S. Navy pediatrician at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, before entering private pediatric practice. Dr. Hull practiced in Corpus Christi, Texas for eight years before moving to Decatur. He and his wife Debbie have four grown sons. They all attended Decatur public schools.
Dr. Hull has lectured physician groups on antibiotic use, and in 2001 had his article on "Failure to Thrive," published in the college-level textbook Child Development in the Macmillan Psychology Reference Series.
